How to Do Keto on Vacation and Holidays

If we’re going to talk about vacation and holidays, there are two things that the majority of the people want, the first one is “body goals”, and the second one is, “delicious food”. How about you? Which do you prefer?

It’s easy to say that we all want to achieve a perfectly healthy body, but it could be a challenge if all we see everywhere are foods that are highly devouring. However, you can always maintain your ketogenic diet on vacation and holidays by selecting the right foods that will complement your lifestyle.

You can always go out, have fun, and have a party without worrying about gaining too much weight and falling back on your keto diet plan! So in this article, we’ll talk about how to survive the vacation and holidays even if you’re only limited to foods and drinks that are inside the keto diet bracket.

Maintaining the Keto Diet Even when Celebrating Special Occasions - Is it Possible?

So now we’re going to talk about how you can maintain your diet even if you’re celebrating a special occasion, spending the holiday with your family and friends, having a date night, etc.

Several people that are on their keto journey think it’s always okay to have a “cheat day” which means that they’re allowed to allocate a specific day where they can binge eat foods that’ll ruin their ketogenic diet. It is not that totally wrong, but it could lead to bad results if you’re going to cheat on a regular basis.

This “cheat day” normally happens on special occasions. Well, you must remember that we should not cheat anymore. The word “cheat” is already defeating us and we must not let that happen. We can always do celebrations without cheating. If you’re still going to cheat while celebrating, that’s not celebrating at all!

To make a celebration worthwhile and satisfying, you need to make sure that you’re celebrating because you’re doing a lot of things right, and celebrating that you have a memory of a time or food in your life that you truly enjoy.

But how then, can we do all that and still get and maintain results that’ll support our keto diet plan? Well, the truth is, I think you’ll get better results when you can find the perfect balance. You have to think about how much you can celebrate special occasions without falling backward. It might be once a month, twice a month, once every six months, or maybe once a week. You’ll need to find that out yourself.

As you read on, you’ll get yourself a plan that will help you through that process. You can still enjoy your keto diet and enjoy a specific occasion at the same time. I hope this plan will help you!

A Plan that Helps You Maintain your Keto Diet on Vacation and Holidays

  • Drink Ketones daily

This is the most important thing you must do to maintain your diet. Just reboot with us, apply the 60-hour key to reboot, and do the 24-hour fast. Just do these steps and you’ll be successful. Missing even one of these steps could ruin your diet.

When you’re going to have celebratory time, allocate an hour before that for your ketones. Why? Let me elaborate on it. For example, if you’re going on a date night or a party, it’s normal for you to crave a huge variety of delicious food, but letting your cravings defeat you will make you cheat on your diet! What should you do then at times like that?

Let’s say your date night or party is at 5:00 PM. An hour before that, which is 4:00 PM, before you go to that special occasion, you must have a ketone. The point of doing this is to reduce your cravings and it’s going to help you lessen how much you eat.

Moreover, it has a blunting effect of absorbing carbohydrates, so it’s like you can kind of get away with a little bit more without having the repercussions. After doing this step, make sure to drink another ketone before you go to bed that night. If you forgot to drink your ketones before sleeping, that won’t be a big problem, but it would generate better results if you do it.

The next two days after that night, you should increase your ketone levels by one. What it does is you get your ketone levels elevated. It protects you from going out and binge-eating again. Increasing your ketone levels will help turn down that mechanism and get you back on track.

  • Drink more water and be more strict low-carb

Regularly exercising and doing other physical activities that benefit your body is very important to do to support your keto diet plan. But once you see in your calendar that you have so many upcoming celebratory times, these necessary activities might get difficult to accomplish. So you need to make sure that on those times that you’re not celebrating, be more strict in your low-carb diet. In that way, you’ll stay in ketosis.

In that way, you’re giving yourself more credit or reserve, so that when you have fun, you’ll still have a little bit more wiggle room. Furthermore, what I want you to do is move a little bit more. What I call it is the 5-10 rule. What is this rule and how can you apply it?

On the days where you do physical activities, make sure that you increase your activity by 5 or 10 minutes. If you’re already active at doing a particular activity, add another 5 or 10 minutes. What can it do for you? Well, doing this will give you some more flexibility during the times when you’re having fun or celebrating.

Maintain your Healthy Keto Lifestyle

Yes, it’s really hard to resist unhealthy foods on special occasions especially if those foods are ultimately delicious. But never let yourself get defeated by your unhelpful cravings. Remember that you need to keep on maintaining your healthy keto lifestyle.

So you need to remember these things when attending or celebrating special occasions - sandwich your carbs/meals with ketones, increase your ketone levels by one for the next two days after, stay hydrated, be strict low-carb, and remain consistent.

If you don’t have your ketones yet, I recommend you buy a 5-day or 10-day experience trial pack. Just click here to visit the shop. You can also join the drinking ketones challenge if you want to enjoy your keto diet along with numerous people around the world that are also on the keto journey.
